Hello! My name is Marta, I am Portuguese and I enjoy reading, writing, hiking, listening to music and going to concerts. I love a good meal, a good craft beer and a good conversation!

To a degree in Communication, I have added work experience in areas such as journalism, volunteering and tourism. Along the way, my path to teaching came about naturally, bringing together my passion for language, people and Portugal.
​​
This led me, through Lisbon Storyteller, to offer a personalized approach to European Portuguese, focusing on effective communication and a love of culture and exchange.

Olá! O meu nome é Marta, sou portuguesa e gosto de ler, escrever, fazer caminhadas, ouvir música e ir a concertos. Adoro uma boa refeição, uma boa cerveja artesanal e uma boa conversa!

A uma licenciatura em Comunicação, acrescentei experiência de trabalho em áreas como jornalismo, voluntariado e turismo. Ao longo do caminho, a minha trajetória para o ensino surgiu de forma natural, juntando a minha paixão pela linguagem, pelas pessoas e por Portugal.

Isso levou-me, através de Lisbon Storyteller, a oferecer uma abordagem personalizada ao Português Europeu, com foco na comunicação eficaz e no amor pela cultura e pelo intercâmbio.

Portuguese Language and Culture
Learning a language is like entering a new world! There is the excitement and surprise of discovery, incredible landscapes, local traditions, exotic sounds, flavors to taste and new people waiting to become friends.

As your guide, I introduce you to my native language and country and build a bridge between you and this new world!

​I am a calm, curious, warm and approachable person, and I am familiar with the most common challenges students face.

That is why, at Lisbon Storyteller, we teach European Portuguese in a personalized way, facilitating a confident expression, but also the understanding of spoken Portuguese, while promoting cultural and human connection.

Aprender uma língua é entrar num mundo novo! Há o entusiasmo e a surpresa da descoberta, paisagens incríveis, costumes locais, músicas e sons algo exóticos, sabores a provar e pessoas à espera de se tornarem amigas.

Como tua guia, apresento-te a minha língua e o meu país nativos e faço a ponte entre ti e este mundo novo!

Sou uma pessoa calma, curiosa, calorosa e disponível e estou familiarizada com os desafios mais comuns dos alunos.

European Portuguese Lessons
Our European Portuguese classes are a safe place where communication is encouraged! Tell me about your goals and interests, and from there, we will assess your level and define a tailored study plan, based on conversation and the right tools.

With the aim of providing an immersive experience, we will complement language learning with an exploration of Portuguese culture. We will also encourage ongoing practice by providing comprehensive resources to use between lessons.
​
Conversations, grammar exercises, books, newspaper articles, audio recordings, videos, transcripts, songs, and stories will be our companions, on a journey where expression and understanding grow with every step.
​
From coffee orders to meaningful exchanges, you will build communication and community.
As nossas aulas de Português Europeu são um local seguro onde a comunicação é incentivada! Conta-me os teus objetivos e interesses e, a partir daí, determinaremos o teu nível e definiremos um plano de estudos personalizado, baseado na conversação e nas ferramentas certas.

Com o objetivo de proporcionar uma experiência imersiva, vamos complementar a aprendizagem da língua com a exploração da cultura portuguesa. Também vamos incentivar a prática contínua, fornecendo recursos para usar entre as aulas.
​
Conversas, exercícios de gramática, livros, artigos de jornais, gravações de áudio, vídeos, transcrições, músicas e histórias serão os nossos companheiros, numa viagem onde a expressão e a compreensão são maiores a cada passo.​
​
Dos pedidos de/no café a trocas com significado, vais construir comunicação e comunidade.​​
